LAS VEGAS, Nev.- Sophomore Anastasia Putilina knocked out two wins on day two of the ITA Mountain Regional Championships to make it to Friday's main draw singles quarterfinals.

Putilina, the No.6-seed*, faces the No.1-seed Pichittra Thongdach of Boise State in the quarters. She downed Montana's Rebecca Bran, 6-2, 6-2 in the round of 32 and defeated 17th-seeded Sarah Summerfield of Wyoming in the round of 16, 6-0, 6-4 to advance.

The eighth-seeded doubles team of seniors Erin Monson and Andrea Maughan downed Katrina Eromin and Christen Monreal of Air Force, 8-1, in the round of 32 to move on to the main draw round of 16 where they will meet Wyoming's Rebecca Berger and Alexandra Kovacs.

Sophomore Missy Harris pulled off her second upset of the tournament, defeating fifth-seeded Lauren Megale of BSU, 6-2, 6-1, in the round of 32. The Ute was unable to overcome Nevada's Emma Verberne in the round of 16 falling, 7-5, 6-3. She will face a yet to be determined opponent in round 4 of the consolation draw, Saturday.

17th-seeded Monson fell in a three set match to Colorado's ninth-seeded Melisa Esposito, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, in the round of 32. She faces Ginet Pinero of New Mexico State in round 3 of the consolation draw Friday morning.

In the round of 32, 17th-seeded Evgenia Kryuchkova was topped by eighth-seeded Ute Schnoy of Denver, 6-2, 6-2. The junior faces Air Force's Christin Molina in the third round of consolation play.

Freshman Paige Miles fell to first-seeded Thongdach, 6-4, 6-1, in the round of 32. She faces Veronika Wojakowska of Colorado State in the consolation draw's third round.

Maughan defeated NMSU's Manon Sylvain, 6-1, 2-6, 6-2, in round two of the consolation draw, but suffered a tough, 6-7(1), 6-2, 7-6(1), loss in the third round qualifier to Kovacs.

Sophomore Lexi Provancha received a bye in the consolation draws second round, but fell in a three set match to ninth-seeded Florence De Vrye of Nevada in the round 3 qualifier, 7-5, 4-6, 6-2.

In the main draw doubles round of 32 Kryuchkova and Harris fell to BSU's ninth-seeded team of Stephanie Jasper and Bianca Jochimsen, 8-3. The duo topped Montana State's Alli Griffin and Laura Villegas, 9-7, in round 2 of the consolation draw and faces Amanda Bran and Maddy Soule of Montana in the third round qualifier.

Putilina and Miles suffered a tough, 9-8(1), loss to UNLV's fourth-seeded team of Jana Albers and Kristina Nedeltcheva in the round of 32, and went on to down Jenn Coll and Andrea De La Torre of MSU in the second round of consolation play, 8-2. They face Montana's Rebecca Bran and Heather Davidson in the round 3 qualifier.

Day three resumes doubles play at 8 a.m. PT with singles starting at 9 a.m., Friday, October 16. *In the singles main draw players were seeded normally No. 1 to No. 8 with eight players seeded No. 9 and 10 seeded No. 17. Main draw doubles teams were seeded normally No. 1 to No. 8 with five teams seeded at No. 9.
