Utah Head Coach Jim Boylen-
"We can't let someone come into our own building and shoot 51% like that. We dug ourselves into a hole in the first half but we fought our way back into it. I was proud of that. This is the second game in a row where we fought our way back into the game but we turned the ball over and couldn't get a rebound when we needed it. It was very similar to the Utah State game. We couldn't get a stop when we needed it. We won the rebound game and free throw game. They made more shots than we did."
"Bell-Holter hasn't taken a 3-pointer all season then comes in tonight and hits them. That is a tough pill to swallow."
"You can't turn the ball over 13 times in the first half and feel good about it. We have to keep working and getting better. I am disappointed we lost. We have to keep getting better."
"We didn't do a good job of playing offense or guarding in the first half. We are not tough enough."
On tempo and rallying back to take the lead: "We got the tempo where we wanted it. We increased the energy level and shared the ball more. Our team has to play fast."
ORU Head Coach Scott Sutton
"It was a great win for this team against this program. Anytime we can come in and play a team with so much tradition, winning is really special. Our guys are learning how to play together and share the ball, as well as defend. We did a good job of that most of the night."
On challenges playing the Utes:
"They are so big. Their wings are so big, tall, and athletic. Their point-guard is so quick (Josh Watkins). He's so quick and strong. They did a good job at pushing the basketball and creating the fouls for the most part. Utah made a couple runs at us towards the end of the first half. But in second half, our guys were tough and continued to overcome that. They still got down in defense, shared the basketball, and made some good shots. We were very fortunate that we made some big shots. Our center hit his third three in this game, where he's only made two in his career until now. We were fortunate in our guys stepping up and to make the plays."
On what they did well:
"We shot the ball well at a 53%. We defended well for 30 out of the 40 minutes. We did a decent job keeping them off of the free throw line. We held our own on the glass. We're talking about guys that are seven-feet tall--their wings are six-foot seven, long and athletic. We were only out-rebounded by one and that was the key."
