-Utah started three newcomers: junior guard Josh Watkins, junior wing Will Clyburn and freshman guard/wing J.J. O'Brien. Sophomores Jason Washburn (center) and Shawn Glover (wing) rounded out the Utes' starting five.
-Clyburn finished with a double-double, logging game highs of 28 points and 11 rebounds. Clyburn shot 10-of-16 from the field, going 2-of-5 from 3-point range and 6-of-9 from the free throw line. Of his 11 rebounds six were on the offensive glass, which tied the high total rebound mark for Adams State.
-At one time in the first half, Clyburn had tallied 13 of Utah's 15 total points. He finished the game leading all players with 34 minutes.
-Two players eclipsed the 20-point scoring mark for the Utes, while a third reached double figures. Joining Clyburn over 20 points was Josh Watkins, who scored 22 on 6-of-13 from the field and 10-of-13 from the free throw line. Washburn finished the game with 15 points, 13 of which came in the second half, and shot over 50% for the game (6-of-11).
-Utah head coach Jim Boylen was happy with the Utes' aggressiveness, demonstrated by their 39 free throw attempts.
-Utah held Adams State to less than 41% shooting (26-of-64), including 28.6% from 3-point range. Utah led the Mountain West Conference in 3-point defense last year at 30.2%.
