Interim Head Coach Anthony Levrets
On the game:
"I am really proud of my team and where we are right now. We have to play hard all the time and keep working on getting better so that we can be where we need to be by the end of the season. And I think we are. There are a lot of good signs; we are starting to find their way a little bit. We have a couple of things we have to shore up, we have to become a better free-throw shooting team and when we sub, we have to figure out ways to score. We started out 11-2 then all of a sudden, we subbed and we don't continue to have that offensive flow and it has happened to us many times. It happened against Washington and it happened over in Cancun. And we have to figure this out as a staff and our kids have to figure it out too."
On Iwalani Rodrigues:
"She is starting to become who I thought she was when we recruited her; I told her she was going to be one of the best guards in this league. I think she has been hesitant to take that roll. We have to get her some shots, sometimes I think she is afraid she is shooting too much. I assured her this week that I would let her know when she is shooting too much. We need offense from her and she is very capable."
On attempting 18 three-pointers:
"It's too many, especially in the first half. I would like it to be more like a quarter of our shots, and it's not so much that we shot the three's, it was when we shot them, especially during that stretch, we were getting the ball to the paint and we were running good offense. Then we started to get stagnant and it was just stand-still three's in that stretch when we weren't scoring, and that is what we have to get fixed."
On scoring 18 points:
`It was nice, but I wish we could've won. I mean our team, we are on a losing streak but I felt like it was one possession that cost us the game. It was free throws we didn't knock down and there was that three-pointer we gave up to No. 33 in transition, down by one. We just have to communicate and move forward. It hurts that we lose, but every day in practice we come back and we fight and compete against each other."
On what could have happened differently:
"I feel like it's more like what we could've done, just like against Washington it was one possession and that three-pointer killed us. I feel like it's us, we are young and we are going to have to learn. And we are getting there. We love to compete, we compete in practice, and we come out and compete on the floor. It's always fun to play a team you never play in conference, which you might never see again."
On Arkansas:
"It was exactly like our game plan. I think we did really well defensively. I think its offensive shots that we have to knock down, we had a lot of open three's that we couldn't hit and a lot of open shots that wouldn't fall."
