Utah Head Coach Larry Krystkowiak
"Overall I was really proud of the way our guys competed tonight. We haven't faced that kind of pressure, length and athletic ability yet and you could see the disparity between their team and ours. We just can't simulate that kind of pressure in practice, it kind of overwhelmed us. I liked the way we started the game but then we had three or four turnovers that got the momentum going the other direction. They had 31 points off our turnovers and it's hard to win a game that way. It's really rare also... we shot 60% from field and out-rebounded them but the score was pretty lopsided in the other direction. We just couldn't take care of the ball."
On the high-scoring game with a lot of possessions
"That's way they want to play. They want to add possessions to the game with the press and they don't take a lot of time shooting the ball either. So in 40 minutes, there are a lot more possessions and that leads to a lot more points."
On the play of Josh Watkins
"I thought this was one of his better performances overall. His assist-to-turnover ratio was in the right direction at seven-to-three, and we're asking him to have that type of ratio at the point guard spot, if not better. With the ball in his hands he made great plays getting to basket tonight with some pretty acrobatic moves. And he provided leadership for us this evening, which is what we need on a nightly basis."
On playing UNC Asheville on Saturday
"We didn't' plan on coming here to lose three games, but that's what we're up against. This is an opportunity to play a very competitive Asheville team, and we're both in the same situation. We're playing in the last game of tournament and we're both going to be scratching and clawing for our lives. Hopefully we can leave here with something to feel good about."
