SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's basketball team will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak against New Mexico on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 5:00 p.m. The game will be televised on CBS College Sports.
The first 300 fans will receive a free Utah bandana. The `Uth Expo' will begin at 4:00 p.m., featuring a balloon artist, Swoop and more, including a massage table for the adults.
Utah will have a special tribute to former radio broadcaster Chris Tunis at halftime.
Utah suffered another heartbreaking loss on Wednesday evening, falling to Wyoming, 59-50. The Utes have dropped each of their last three games by single digits.
"Saturday's game is another important game for us, as all of them this time of year are," interim head coach Anthony Levrets said. "We feel as if we have improved a tremendous amount, but we need to continue to make strides and winning at home is very important.
"New Mexico is young and talented. They are in a similar situation as we are with their youth, but they are a very dangerous and well-coached basketball team. As always, we must defend and rebound and our execution at the offensive end needs to be crisp. We need to make sure we finish our opportunities when we get open shots."
New Mexico has struggled this season, which is uncharacteristic for the Lobos. The Lobos do have a big win over TCU and are 3-8 in the conference, 9-14 overall.
Utah defeated New Mexico, 56-53, back on Jan. 19th in The Pit. It was the 11th-straight game of the series that has been decided by a single-digit margin.
