At 6-1, Utah is off to its best start since winning its first eight games in 2010. Utah's 3-1 conference start is its best since joining the Pac-12 in 2011. Utah is bowl eligible for the first time since 2011.
Utah is 5-2 in blackout games, beating TCU (2008), Wyoming (2009), Oregon State (2011), Cal (2012), USC (2014), and losing to TCU (2010) and UCLA (2013)
Utah earned a win over USC for the first time since 2001.
Attendance was 47,619, the largest-ever crowd at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Utah has played to 29-straight sellouts in Rice-Eccles Stadium extending back to the 2010 season-opener against Pittsburgh.
Travis Wilson became the 12th player in school history to throw for 4,000 yards. He has 4,165 career passing yards. Wilson went 18-for-32 for 194 yards against USC with one touchdown pass (his eighth of the year). Wilson has 31 career touchdown passes, tying him with Brett Ratliff for seventh all-time at Utah.
Devontae Booker scored his team-leading eighth rushing touchdown in the third quarter on a 24-yard run in the third quarter. He led Utah with 102 rushing yards (26 carries) for his fourth straight 100-yard rushing game.
Kaelin Clay scored the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard reception with eight seconds remaining in the game. He had 115 all-purpose yards with 51 punt return yards, 41 kickoff return yards and 23 receiving yards.
Tight end Westlee Tonga had a career-high 71 receiving yards (six catches) to lead Utah.
Tom Hackett downed a punt at the 8-yard line, his 13th punt inside the 10-yard line this season. He had three punts inside the 20.
Andy Phillips kicked a 24-yard field goal in the second quarter, and goes to 14-of-16 in field goals this season.
Jared Norris led Utah in tackles with nine. Gionni Paul tallied eight tackles.
Jason Fanaika made his first career interception in the third quarter. Utah has eight interceptions this season. He had 1.5 tackles for loss (six total tackles).
Davion Orphey scored his first career touchdown after recovering a fumble on an incomplete lateral pass by USC, returning it 53 yards for the Utes first score of the game.
