Utah remains winless in Pac-12 openers, falling to 0-4 since joining the league in 2011.
Travis Wilson was 18-for-38 for 165 yards at quarterback (0 touchdowns, 0 interceptions). Wilson moved into 12th all-time in career passing yards at Utah (3,921), passing Mark Stevens (3,875 yards from 1983-84).
Devontate Booker had the first 100-yard rushing game of his career with 178 yards (24 carries), the most by a Ute since John White had 185 yards against Washington State in 2011.. He scored on a 76-yard run in the first quarter, with his team-leading third rushing touchdown of the season. It was the 10th-longest rush in Utah history.
Kaelin Clay tied the Utah single-season record for punt return touchdowns after scoring his third punt return touchdown of the season on a 58-yard punt return in the third quarter. Steve Smith, currently of the Baltimore Ravens, set the record of three in 1999. Clay needs one more to tie the Utah career record of four set by Steve Odum (1971-73). Clay also had a career-high 65 yards receiving (five catches).
Kenneth Scott led the team in receiving with seven catches for a team-high 70 yards.
Andy Phillips went 2-for-3 in field goals with makes of 46 and 43 yards and miss of 46 yards. He is 14-of-18 (77.8%) in his career from 40+ yards.
Gionni Paul made his second interception of the season in the second quarter with a seven-yard return. He has played in just two games this year after missing the first two games after recovering from an injury suffered during spring ball.
Eric Rowe made his third career interception in the first quarter, scoring his first career touchdown with an 11-yard return.
Jared Norris led Utah with a season-high 12 tackles, including a team-high 2.5 TFL. Brian Blechen was also in double-digit tackles with a season-high 10 tackles.
