"We had another very good performance," Utah head coach Kyle Kepler said. "We beat several nationally ranked teams and I am very happy with the sixth-place finish. We finished in front of Georgetown, who is ranked seventh in the country. It was a good battle all the way around for us."

Coming down the final stretch, McInturff was neck-in-neck with Michigan's Erin Finn. McInturff was able to persevere, beating Finn by a tenth of a second. Sarah Feeny posted a time of 20:21.1 for ninth place.

Overall, the Utes earned sixth out of 45 teams competing with a team score of 350 points. Michigan won the meet with 131 points, followed by Colorado in second place and Oregon in third. All three are ranked in the top 10 nationally.
In the open race, the Utes captured second out of eight teams with a total of 38 team points. Leading the way for the Utes in this race was senior transfer Jocelyn Todd. The Utes return to action on Oct. 30 at the Pac-12 Championships in Colfax, Wash.
"Today's meet shows the kind of depth we have," Kepler said. "We get to run 10 at the Pac-12 meet, which will be a tough decision since everyone is training well. We have two more weeks to train before we have to make that decision. We are looking forward to getting back and beginning training for Pac-12's."
