The 2016 Pac-12 football schedule was revealed tonight on the Pac-12 Networks and Utah will play two Thursday, one Friday and nine Saturday games. Utah’s first Thursday contest is the season opener on Sept. 1 against Southern Utah in Salt Lake City. A game against another in-state opponent follows when BYU visits Rice-Eccles Stadium on Sept. 10. The Utes will conclude their non-conference schedule at San Jose State on Sept. 17.
Utah’s first Pac-12 opponent is USC on Fri., Sept. 23 in Salt Lake City. Other Pac-12 home games will come against Arizona (Oct. 8), Washington (Oct. 29) and Oregon (Nov. 19). The Arizona game is homecoming.
The front half of the season is heavy on home games, with the Utes playing in Rice-Eccles Stadium in four of the first six weeks, while the back end finds Utah on the road for four of its final six games.
Every football game played at Pac-12 sites will be televised nationally with the ESPN channels, ABC, FOX and FOX Sports 1 slated to broadcast 44 games and Pac-12 Networks another 35. Exact broadcast schedules and game times will be announced later.
The Pac-12 Football Championship game will be played at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., on Fri., Dec. 2.
