Green River, Wyo.- The Utah men's swimming and diving team won six events but fell short to the Wyoming Cowboys, 173-127, this Saturday afternoon in Green River.
Bence Kiraly captured first place in three events; the 1,000 free (9:31.93), 200 fly (1:48.77) as well as the 500 free (4:40.41).
Paul Unger also had an exceptional day. He took first in the 100 back (49.52) and the 100 fly (50.66). Adding to the wins was diver Jacob Crayne who took first in the one-meter event with a total score of 366.38. Crayne also took second in the three-meter event (335.55).
Taking second for the Utes was David Fraser in the 200 free (1:42.30), Brandon Deckard in the 200 back (1:51.59) and Nolan Rogers in the 200 IM (1:53.46).
In relay action, Unger, Jack Burton, Ben Scott and Sean Bloore teamed together to take second in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.26. Fraser, Unger, Bloore and Kiraly also took second in the 400 IM touching in at 3:04.73.
The men take a break from competition until 2016. They will return to the pool on Jan. 23 where they will take on BYU.
