SALT LAKE CITY - Utah skiers Niklas Persson and Sloan Storey were named the men's and women's Nordic RMISA Skiers of the Week for the Seawolf Invitational, held Feb. 23-26 in Anchorage, Alaska.
Persson and Storey are the second and third Utah skiers to earn weekly honors from the RMISA. Veronika Mayerhofer was the women's Nordic skier of the week at the Colorado Invitational in January.
Persson earned two podium finishes at the Seawolf Invite, finishing third in the both the classical and freestyle races. Storey was third in the classical in the women's race and fifth in the freestyle.
Each skier is limited to one weekly award per season.
Persson has five top-five finishes this season with three podium finishes. Storey has two podium finishes, six top-five finishes and has not finished lower than seventh in Utah's 10 races this season.
