SALT LAKE CITY-- Utah senior All-Americans Georgia Dabritz (gymnastics) and Kristiina Rove (skiing) have been named to the Capital One Academic All-America At-Large team. Dabritz was a first-team selection while Rove was named to the second team. The at-large team, which covers 13 NCAA Division I sports, was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Dabritz, the 2015 NCAA uneven bar champion and Pac-12 Gymnast of the Year, has maintained a 3.808 cumulative grade point average while pursuing dual majors in health, society and policy and health education. She was also the 2015 Pac-12 Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete of the Year and the AAI Award winner as the top senior gymnast in the nation.
Rove, a three-time All-America skier in the giant slalom (2013-15), has a 3.98 grade point average in business administration.
Dabritz becomes the fifth Ute gymnast to be named a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American. The others were Shannon Bowles (2002), Theresa Kulikowski (2002, 2003), Kristina Baskett (2009) and Daria Bijak (2010). Rove is the fourth Utah women's skier to earn Academic All-America honors.
A 16-time All-American, eight-time NCAA Regional champion and six-time Pac-12 champion, Dabritz won every major Pac-12 award during her career: Gymnast of the Year (2015), Scholar-Athlete of the Year (2015), Specialist of the Year (2014) and Freshman of the Year (2012).
Utah's three-time MVP, Dabritz led the Utes in victories all four years of her career and her 88 career victories is tied for fourth in school history. A co-captain this past season, she was named Utah's Outstanding Senior Female Athlete in an award voted on by her peers. She is a three-time Pac-12 All-Academic honoree and a two-time NACGC Scholar All-American.
Rove had two career victories for the Utes, in the slalom at the Colorado Invite and the RMISA Championship in 2014. She is a three-time All-RMISA skier, earning first-team honors in 2014. Rove had 12 career podium finishes during her career with 23 career top-5 finishes.
Rove is a member of Utah's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was twice named to the National Collegiate All-Academic Ski Team. She competed at the FIS Alpine World Championships in 2015 in the slalom and giant slalom races.
