GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Utah men's golf team closed out action at the Bridgestone Collegiate with a 12th-place finish on Monday, carding a three-round score of 9-over 873 (284-287-302) at the Grandover Resort.
Duke took first-place with a score of 30-under (834) and Iowa State followed with a second-place finish after posting a score of 26-under (838). Northwestern and Liberty finished tied for third-place with a score of 25-under (839), and North Carolina State rounded out the top-five with a score of 24-under (840).
Senior Gentry Hicks shot 6-over 78 on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for 35th with a combined score of even-par 216. Sophomore Kyler Dunkle followed in a tie for 47th, finishing at 2-over 218.
Freshman Jordan Costello tied for 57th at 6-over 222, while freshman Mitchell Schow tied for 60th overall with a three-round score of 7-over 223. Freshman Peyton Hastings rounded out Utah's scoring at 13-over 229 and finishing in a tie for 72nd overall.
The Utah men's golf team will return to tournament play in the Spring, Feb. 15-17, at the John A. Burns Collegiate. The tournament will be hosted by the University of Hawaii in Lihue, Hawaii.
