Utah extended its winning streak against BYU to six games (2010-13, 2015-16). Utah's last six-game win streak in the series was from 1959-64.Utah is 19-1 in non-conference games since joining the Pac-12 in 2011.

Attendance is 46,915, the fifth-largest game in Utah history. The Utes have sold out 40-consecutive home games. Of the sellouts, 37 have been played before standing-room only crowds that exceed stadium capacity.

Utah and BYU combined for nine turnovers (Utah 6; BYU 3). Utah had not turned the ball over against BYU in the previous three games of the series (2012, 2013, 2015).
