SALT LAKE CITY -- University of Utah women's tennis will kick off their spring season at the Florida Gulf Coast University Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla on Jan. 14-16.

Matches begin on Saturday at 8 a.m., when the Utes will face Northwestern State in doubles competition. Immediately doubles, the Utes will face St. John's in singles competition. Utah will join NSU, St. John's, and host FGCU at the tournament.

The Utes look to continue their success from their fall competitions. Junior
Margo Pletcher and Sophomore
Brianna Turley were selected to compete in the main doubles draw at the ITA All-American Championship last October, where Pletcher was also selected to compete in singles competition.

The Utes picked up wins throughout the fall at the UVA Invitational in September and ITA Regionals in October before concluding the final day at the Brown Classic with a 7-0 sweep of singles competition.

Utah continues competition throughout February, including home matches against New Mexico on Feb. 17 and Wisconsin on Feb. 19 before traveling to the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic in Montgomery, Ala. They will begin Pac-12 Conference play on March 10 and 11 with a weekend in Arizona to face Arizona and Arizona State.
