ANCHORAGE - Kevin Bolger and
Guro Jordheim earned podium finishes in the men's and women's classical races of the UAA Invitational on Saturday afternoon as the Ute ski team holds a two-point lead in the overall standings.
In the men's 10-km, Bolger finished in second for his sixth individual podium of the season.
Martin Bergström placed fourth for his fourth-top five of the year.
Martin Mikkelsen placed sixth for his third top-10 finish of the season. Bolger, Bergström and Mikkelsen combined to give the Utes a race-high 95 points.
Logan Diekmann finished 20th with
Oscar Ivars 23rd and
Jacob Engström 34th.
For the women, Jordheim finished third in the women's 5-km race for her third podium of the year.
Leah Lange placed 14th while Natalie Müller was 20th.
The Utes lead the UAA Invite with 478 points, just ahead of Denver's 476 points. Colorado stands third with 416 points with New Mexico fourth (393) and Montana State fifth (348).
The Nordic teams close out their Alaska trip on Sunday, Feb. 12, with the women's 15-km and men's 20-km freestyle races.
