Salt Lake City-- University of Utah women's tennis will open their first weekend of home matches at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center. The Utes will face New Mexico (0-4) Friday at 1 p.m. and Wisconsin (3-3) Sunday at 10 a.m.

Utah notes
The Utes started the spring season with a strong showing at the FGCU Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla in January. Utah pulled off a perfect 3-0 in doubles matches against Northwestern State on the first day at FGCU and matched their performance with a 7-0 sweep in singles competition the following day, also against the Lady Demons. Utah went 6-2 in singles against St. John's and 3-1 in doubles against host FGCU.

The Utes opened their dual-match schedule with a tough road loss to Fresno State on Feb. 4. Junior
Alexia Petrovic came back from a first-set loss to defeat Emma Wilson, 2-6, 7-6 (3-0), 10-5. Freshman
Whitney Turley also recorded a singles win for the Utes as she defeated Olivia Noble in two sets, 6-3, 6-4.

Opponent Notes
New Mexico started their spring season with two road losses to Georgia, both by a score of 0-4, in January before traveling to Colorado in February. They fell to Denver, 1-6, where Ludivine Burguiere recorded a singles win over Julia O'Loughlin, 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. They later dropped a match to Colorado, 0-4. The Lobos come to Utah winless, where they will face Utah on Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. and Wisconsin on Feb. 18 at 11 a.m.
Wisconsin comes to Utah 3-3 on the season. After starting the season with a 0-7 road loss to Marshall, the Badgers picked up three straight wins at home over Colorado State, 7-0, Marquette, 4-3, and Xavier, 5-2. They then fell to North Texas, 3-4, and Oklahoma, 0-4 on the road.
