LIHU'E, Hawaii - The Utah men's golf team closed out action at the John A. Burns Collegiate with a 13th-place finish on Friday, carding a three-round score of 18-over 882 (301-286-295) at the Wailua Golf Course in Lihu'e, Kaua'i.
Virginia took first-place with a score of 29-under (835) and Texas A&M followed with a second-place finish after posting a score of 25-under (839). Northwestern finished in third-place with a score of 24-under (840), with Brigham Young finishing in fourth place with a score of 8-under (856). California and Santa Clara rounded out the top-five tying for fifth place with a final score of 4-under (860).
Sophomore
Kyler Dunkle shot 1-over 73 on Friday, finishing in a tie for 18
th-place with a combined score of 1-under 215. Freshman
Mitchell Schow followed in a tie for 47th, finishing at 4-over 220.
Senior
Gentry Hicks tied for 68th at 8-over 224, while sophomore
Nathan Wunderli tied for 72
nd-overall with a three-round score of 9-over 225. Freshman
Jordan Costello rounded out Utah's scoring at 12-over 228 and finishing in a tie for 85th overall.
Utah will have a week off before returning to action at the N.I.T. on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 27-28. The event will be hosted by the University of Arizona and will take place in Tucson, Arizona, at the Omni Tucson National Golf Club.
