TUCSON, Arizona - The University of Utah men's golf team returns to action this Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 27-28, at the National Invitational Tournament. The 54-hole tournament will be held at the Omni Tucson National-Catalina Course.
Joining Utah at the event will be tournament host Arizona, Arizona State, Brigham Young, Colorado State, Iowa State, Nevada, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, Princeton, San Francisco, San Jose State, Santa Clara, UNLV, UTEP, and Wyoming.
The Omni Tucson National-Catalina Course will play at par 72 for the event, teams will play 36 holes on Monday followed by 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will have a shotgun start at 8 a.m. MST.
Last season at the N.I.T., the Utah men's golf team finished in 12
th place, after carding their best round of the event at 2-under par (286). Utah ended the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a score of 12-over par (293-298-286=876).
Gentry Hicks carded 1-under par (71) in the final round to finish in a tie for 27
th-place. Hicks finished the event with a three-day score of 1-over par (71-75-71=217) to lead the Utes.
