SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah ski team will take a full team of 12 skiers to the NCAA Championships, held March 8-12 in New Hampshire.
In women's Nordic,
Merete Myrseth,
Guro Jordheim and
Natalia Müller will represent the Utes. Myrseth has three wins, which is tied for the most in the conference. Jordheim has four podium finishes on the year with eight top 10 finishes. Both Myrseth and Jordheim are in their first year at Utah. Müller, who has one top five and two top 10 finishes this season, earned All-America honors last year in the freestyle at the NCAA Championships last year. She is a two-time NCAA qualifier, serving as an alternate in 2015.
Leah Lange is an alternate for the Utes.
On the men's side,
Kevin Bolger,
Martin Bergström and
Martin Mikkelsen will travel to NCAA's. Bolger, a three-time NCAA qualifier and 2016 All-American in the classic race, has two wins and six podium finishes this year. Bergström had four podium finishes during the season.
Martin Mikkelsen was a second-team selection. He had six top 10 finishes during the year. Bergström and Mikkelsen are both in their first year at Utah. Utah has three alternates,
Oscar Ivars,
Jacob Engström and
Logan Diekmann.
In women's alpine,
Roni Remme,
Julie Mohagen and
Chloe Fausa are Utah's team for the second-straight season. Remme, who has two wins and three podium finishes this year, earned All-America honors in the giant slalom at NCAA's last year. Mohagen is the reigning NCAA slalom champion. She has three podium finishes and five top five finishes. Fausa is a three-time All-American in the giant slalom and has one win this year.
Sabine Krautgasser and
Abby Ghent are alternates.
Sam Dupratt,
Endre Bjertness and
Joergen Brath will be the men's alpine squad. In his first season at Utah, Dupratt has three race wins this year with four podiums. Bjertness is a three-time All-American and the defending giant slalom national champion. He has three podium finishes and five top five finishes this year. Brath, a 2014 All-American in the giant slalom, is making his fourth appearance at NCAA's. He recently had a career-best fourth-place finish in the giant slalom at the RMISA Championships. Alternates are
Martin Grasic and
Ty Sprock.
Utah has 10 NCAA Championships. The Utes have finished third the past two years.
