FRANCONIA, N.H. – Roni Remme and
Endre Bjertness earned All-America honors in the slalom as the Utah ski team is in second place at the NCAA Championships going into the final day of skiing on Saturday.
The Utes trail Denver (419) for the team lead with 384.5 points. Colorado is in a close third with 377 points while Dartmouth is fourth with 313 points and Vermont in fifth (279).
It was the second All-America honor of the championships for Remme, who also earned giant slalom All-America honors. Remme placed eighth for the Utes.
Julie Mohagen was 12
th with
Chloe Fausa (who had to hike on her first run) in 29
th.
For the men, Bjertness had Utah's best finish of the day with a fifth-place run to earn his first All-America honor of the championships.
Sam Dupratt placed 24
th while
Joergen Brath was 28
th.
The NCAA ski championships conclude on Saturday, March 11, with the women's 15-km and men's 20-km freestyle races. The men's race begins at 10:00 a.m. ET/8:00 a.m. MT with the women at 12:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. MT.
