HONOLULU – The Utah beach volleyball team is back in action this Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, at the Outrigger Hawaii Invitational in Honolulu. During the two-day event, the Utes will play matches against four top-10 ranked teams at Queens Beach.

Utah will open the event facing No. 4-ranked Florida State at 2:15 p.m. MT. The Utes will finish Friday's play at 7:15 p.m. MT when they face No.1-ranked and defending national champion USC.

The Utes begin the second day of competition against the tournament host, No. 5-ranked Hawaii. First serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. MT. Utah will close out the two-day event against Nebraska and No. 7-ranked Arizona. The match against Nebraska is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. MT, while the dual against Arizona will begin immediately after the conclusion of the Nebraska match.

The Utah women's beach volleyball team competed in its first tournament of the inaugural season last weekend at the Stanford Invitational. Utah's No. 2 pairing of freshmen

Dani Barton went undefeated, winning all three matches including tournament host, No. 14-ranked Stanford.

Following the Stanford Invitational, Utah closed out the weekend in San Francisco where they picked up the first team win of the season. The Utes swept the University of San Francisco, 5-0.
