SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team hosts its first Pac-12 games of the season against Oregon with the three-game series beginning on Thursday, March 30. All three games will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
Thursday's game begins at 7:00 p.m. MT with Friday's game at 5:00 p.m. MT. Game three on Saturday, April 1, is at 12:00 p.m. MT.
The team will be celebrating its 2016 Pac-12 Championship on Saturday with a raising of a championship flag. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a Pac-12 Champs pennant flag.
Utah continues its season-long baseball card promotion with
Dylan Drachler and
Jayson Rose on Thursday,
Wade Gulden on Friday and
Kyle Hoffman on Saturday.
Utah (10-12) is third in the Pac-12 in batting average (.282). The Utes are second in the league in hits (215), third in total bases (295)and tied for fourth in doubles (39). Utah is fifth in on-base percentage (.369), RBI (110), slugging percentage (.387) and runs scored (123).
Utah is fifth in the league in ERA (3.66). The Utes are fifth in the league in fewest runs allowed (95). The Utes lead the league with eight pickoffs and five home runs is tied for the fewest in the league.
Dallas Carroll ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in batting average (.395). He is third in the league in hits (34) and hits per game (1.55). He is the second-toughest player in the league to strike out, averaging one strikeout per every 14.3 at-bats.
Jayson Rose is seventh in the league in strikeouts (34).
Oregon is ranked 10th in the NCAA and second in the Pac-12 in ERA (2.66). The Ducks are 16-6 on the season and have won three of their last four, including taking two of three from Washington and a midweek win over Portland.
