SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team plays its first home games of the year this weekend with a three-game series against New Mexico State from March 10-12.
The Utes open the weekend on Friday, March 10, at 3:00 p.m. MT and continue on Saturday, March 11, at 1:00 p.m. MT. The series concludes on Sunday, March 12, at 1:00 p.m. MT.
A video and audio broadcast as well as live stats will all be available for each game.
Schedule magnets will be given away all three games. The Utes continue their player card promotion in 2017, beginning with
Chandler Anderson (Friday),
Chase Bauerle and
Jacob Rebar (Saturday) and
Braden DeBenedictis (Sunday).
Utah is ranked 14th in the latest RPI. The Utes are 7-3 on the season and are coming off a series win over UTSA, winning two of the three games.
Utah is second in the conference with a .326 batting average and a .438 slugging percentage. The Utes are also second in the league in runs scored (82), hits (120), RBI (74), on-base percentage (.422) and doubles (27).
The Utes have allowed just one home run, which is tied for the league lead.
Dallas Carroll leads the Pac-12 and is ranked 11th in the NCAA in batting average (.525). He is ninth in the country in hits per game (2.10) and tied for 21st in total hits (21) and also leads the league in both categories.
New Mexico State is 9-5 on the season. The Aggies have won three-straight games over Yale after dropping the first of the four-game series. NMSU takes on New Mexico on Tuesday before facing the Utes.
