SALT LAKE CITY -Â The Utah men's swim team will host No. 8 USC this Saturday at 2 p.m. in what will be a final tune-up before the Pac-12 Championships. Utah will also celebrate the accomplishments of its senior class before the meet.
The Utes are aiming for a fourth-straight dual meet victory and first Pac-12 win of the season.
Last Time Out
Paul Ungur was the top Ute in the pool as helped his side to a 210-89 win over rival BYU. Ungur won the 100 fly (49.55) and 100 back (47.47), while also swimming the lead lap on the victorious 200 medley and 400 free relays.

He was one of four Utes to win multiple events against the Cougars.Â
Jack Burton, who was also in the 200 medley relay, also won the 100 breast (56.37) and 200 breast (2:06.25).Â
Rahiti De Vos win the 200 free (1:40.43) and 500 free (4:38.77) whileÂ
Daniel McArthur captured the 200 back (1:51.54) and 200 IM (1:53.26) after taking second in 100 back.

Rodolfo Moreira also competed in the 200 medley relay and won individual events. Scott took the 200 fly in 1:50.28 and Moreira was the winner in the 50 free with a time of 20.91.

Austin Phillips were all involved in the winning 400 free relay group with O'Haimhirgin also taking the 100 free in 45.66 and second in the 50 free. Phillips was also the runner-up in the 200 back and third in the 100 back while Chiun took second in the 100 free.

Nathan Makarewicz in the one-meter diving event (342.00).
Makarewicz named Pac-12 Diver of the Week
Utah'sÂ
Nathan Makarewicz was named Pac-12 Diver of the Week for his performances vs. the Cougars
Makarewicz (Salt Lake City, Utah) captured the one and three-meter events as Utah came out on top.
After transferring from Princeton prior to this season, Makarewicz has the fourth-highest Utah mark in the one-meter event and ranks sixth in the three-meter.
Utah has had two prior Pac-12 Divers of the Month and this is its first Diver of the Week.
Last Meeting
The Utes were in L.A. last season for USC's Senior Day and the Trojans won, 181-118. Utah a new school record and had nine competitors accomplish times good enough for NCAA consideration despite coming up short.
In the 100 breast,Â
Jack Burton took first with a time of 53.64, matching the school record set by Ken Tiltges at the 2014 Pac-12 Championships. He would later break the mark at the Pac-12 Championships. Burton would later take second in the 200 breast (1:57.86) and be one of seven student-athletes to reach a NCAA cut time.Â
Another individual win for the Utes was turned in byÂ
Daniel McArthur in the 200 IM. He came away with a time of 1:48.32. McArthur also took second in the 100 back (47.25) and both times were good enough for NCAA consideration.
Austin Phillips took first in the 200 free touching in at 1:37.78 withÂ
Rahiti De Vos following in second (1:38.53). De Vos also earned a second-place finish in the 500 free (4:28.58).Â
In the 1,650 free,Â
Matteo Sogne just missed the top spot by touching in at 15:18.02.Â
Liam O'Haimhirgin took second in the 100 free (44.61) andÂ
Ethan Dillard was second in the 200 IM (1:49.46).Â
Colten Montgomery was also second in the 100 fly touching in at 47.62.Â
Chris Taber joined Phillips, Sogne and Montgomery as the other Utes who made the cut for NCAA consideration, with a solid performance in the 200 fly, capping an outstanding day for the Utes.

Looking Ahead
With the Pac-12 Championships right around the corner, teams will be tuning up for the competition. The diving team begins events on February 21, while the swimming team will begin a week later on Feb. 28. This year's championships are being held in Federal Way, Washington.
