Paul Ungur broke his own school record, capturing the 100 back on an eventful third evening at the 2018 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championships

The senior from Romania, finished in an incredible three-way tie to capture the event in a time of 45.52 He became Utah's first individual medalist of the conference event and just third in program history.

Daniel McArthur would place 14
th overall with a NCAA B cut time of 47.05, a season best.
Brandon Shreeve placed 24
th with a PR mark of 51.12 seconds.

Ungur would also team with
Jack Burton,
Ben Scott and
Liam O'Haimhirgin to smash the school record in the 400 medley relay. The Utah quartet finished with a time of 3:07.68, almost two seconds faster than the same group's time at this year's Art Adamson Invitational

Scott and O'Haimhirgin also reached the "A" finals of their respective individual events to set an exciting evening in motion.

In the 100 fly, Scott placed eighth overall. Earlier in the day, he swam a NCAA B cut time of 46.28. That mark was a new PR and the second-fastest time in Utah history.
Colten Montgomery also exceled in the prelims with a season best, NCAA B cut time of 47.91 seconds.

In the 200 free, O'Haimhirgin also finished eighth. His prelim time of 1:34.72 was a new PR and NCAA B cut time that kept him fourth all-time on the Utah timing charts.
Austin Phillips was 12
th overall after a NCAA B cut time of 1:35.76, a season-best for him.
Rahiti De Vos placed 18
th with a new PR and NCAA B cut time of 1:36.50 that kept him sixth all-time in Utah history

Burton, who set the school record in the 100 breast last year was 12
th with a season-best time of 53.55. Jeremy Young was 18
th with the fifth-fastest time in Utah history (54.76). Both swim times qualified as NCAA B cuts.

The 400 IM was Utah's most well represented event with four competitors reaching finals this evening.
Cole Avery was the fastest with a time of 3:51.66 during the prelims. His NCAA B cut time was a new PR and kept him sixth all-time in Utah history.
Grant Thompson (3:55.57) and
Brody Lewis (3:57.13) both had their top times of the season along with
Ganem Tebet (3:57.35) in the prelims.

The final day of the Pac-12 Championships will begin at 11 a.m. PT with the prelims of the 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast and 200 fly. The finals of those events will get underway at 6:35 p.m. along with the 1650 free and 400 free relay.
