Mathewson Captures Third in 400-Hurdles at Weber State Open

Three Utes finish inside top-5 in the 400-meter hurdles.
OGDEN, Utah– Freshman Ruby Jane Mathewson led the Utes with a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles as the Utah track and field wrapped up competition Wednesday evening at the Weber State Open.
Mathewson finished the race with a time of 1:03.23. Competing alongside Mathewson was freshman Rachel Whipple and sophomore Brooke Martin. Whipple finished in fourth with a time of 1:03.83 while Martin earned fifth with a time of 1:06.62.
Freshman Regan Crofts competed in the javelin for the Utes where she earned sixth with a throwing distance of 121'01" (36.90 meters).
The Utes will be back in action on Saturday for the Sacramento State Open.
