SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah baseball team hosts second-ranked Stanford in a three-game series beginning on Friday, May 4, at 11:30 a.m. MT at Smith's Ballpark.
The series continues on Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6, with both games at 11:30 a.m.
All three games will be aired on the Pac-12 Networks.
Utah (12-29, 6-12 Pac-12) is coming off a solid weekend against Arizona, taking two of three from the Wildcats for its second Pac-12 series win of the season.
Stanford is the second team that Utah has faced that has been ranked in the top two this season. The Utes took two-of-three from then-No. 1 Oregon State from March 29-31.
Utah is tied for fifth in the Pac-12 in doubles (71), ranks sixth in batting average (.271) and hits (382) and is tied for third in triples (14) while tying for fifth in stolen bases (31). The Utes rank in the top 40 in the NCAA in fielding percentage, ranking fifth in the league with a .976 fielding percentage. The Utes are first in the league in double plays (35) and are fourth in assists (416). The pitchers lead the league with 13 pickoffs.
DaShawn Keirsey, Jr., ranks in the top 10 in the league in several categories including tying for the league lead in doubles (18) and ranking second in batting average (.392) and hits per game (1.56).
Oliver Dunn is tied for fourth in the Pac-12 in fielding assists (112) and is tied for second with 26 double plays.
Trenton Stoltz is second in the Pac-12 with 25 appearances and is tied for fifth in the league with six saves.
Stanford is ranked second in the latest D1Baseball.com poll and is first in the NCBWA poll. The Cardinal are 34-6 on the year and 14-4 in the Pac-12.
