Utah won its 11th-straight season opener, a streak that dates back to a 2008 victory at Michigan.
Weber State was held to just 61 yards of total offense, the third lowest yard total the Utes have held an opponent in program history. They held Weber State to just 26 yards in the first half, eight in the second quarter and 10 in the third quarter.
Zack Moss ripped off an 86-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, the fourth-longest rush in Utah history. Moss had 150 rushing yards (16 carries), his sixth career 100-yard rushing game. He also had 24 receiving yards (3 catches) with a nine-yard touchdown catch for 174 all-purpose yards. It was his fourth career multi-touchdown game.
Tyler Huntley threw for 253 yards (24-of-39) with four touchdowns (1 INT). Huntley has thrown for four touchdowns three times in his career (UCLA and San Jose State, 2017).
Siaosi Mariner led Utah in receiving yards with 73 yards (6 catches), including a 24-yard touchdown.
In his first game since 2015, Britain Covey was second on the team with 119 all-purpose yards (64 rushing, 53 receiving).
Cole Fotheringham's and Brant Kuithe's first career catches both went for touchdowns. Fotheringham's first career catch went for a three-yard score in the first quarter while Kuithe caught a 29-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Twelve different players caught passes.
 Matt Gay went 2-for-3 in field goals with 35-yard and 33-yard field goals. A 43-yard attempt was blocked.
 Mitch Wishnowsky averaged 47.7 punt yards (three punts, 143 yards) with two punts inside the 20-yard line. He also had an 11-yard rush for a first down on a fake punt play.

Utah was led in tackles by John Penisini's career-high six tackles. He also had a team-high three tackles for loss.

Other notable players making their first career appearances included Jason Shelley, whose first career pass went for 40 yards in the fourth quarter and he also had a 40-yard rush. Solomon Enis had two catches for 34 yards, Jaylen Dixon had one catch for 40 yards and TJ Green had 16 yards rushing and a six-yard catch.
