CRAFTSBURY, Vt. – University of Utah skiers have been strong through the first two days of the U.S. Cross Country Ski Championships, held in Craftsbury, Vt.
In the men's 15-km classic on Thursday,
Ola Jordheim led all RMISA skiers and was third among collegiate skiers while finishing 14
th among all skiers (43:19.8).
Maximilian Bie was also strong, finishing second among RMISA skiers, fourth among college skiers and 16
th overall (43:31.4). In the women's 10-km classic race,
Karianne Moe led RMISA skiers and placed second among college skiers while finishing 15
th overall (32:47.0).
In Friday's women's sprint race, Moe led all collegiate skiers and finished seventh overall while
Leah Lange also reached the quarterfinals and was fifth among collegiate skiers (17
th overall). In the men's sprint, Bie finished first in the RMISA, third among college skiers and ninth overall after reaching the semifinal round.
Noel Keeffe finished second among U20 skiers, fifth among college skiers, 13
th overall and just missed making the senior semifinals.
Select collegiate skiers from the RMISA, EISA (Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association) and CCSA (Central Collegiate Ski Association) are all competing at the U.S. Championships. The schedule continues on Sunday, Jan. 6 and Tuesday, Jan. 8 with the freestyle races. Results can be found at
