SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Women's Swim and Dive is in Los Angeles this weekend for a pair of meets against Pac-12 foes. It competes against No. 23 UCLA on Friday at 2 p.m. PT before taking on No. 7 USC at 11 a.m. PT on Saturday. The Utes are receiving votes in the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America TYR Top 25

The Utes earned their first win ever against Arizona with a 174-126 result on Friday.

In the 50 free,
Leyre Casarin took first in 23.91 while
Maddie Woznick was the runner-up and
Kayla Miller placed third. Casarin also captured the 100 free in 52.09 and was the anchor in the victorious 200 medley relay. Swimming with
Sarah Lott,
Mariah Gassaway and
Emma Lawless, the quartet finished in 1:43.16

Charity Pittard started her Utah career with wins in the 200 breast (2:19.55) and 200 IM (2:05.53), as well as a second place finish in the 100 breast (1:05.03).
Lizzy DeCecco was strong on the board with wins in the 1m (255.30) and 3m (249.98) events and Miller second in the 200 free (1:53.94). Casarin, Woznick and Miller joined
Audrey Reimer in the 400 free relay, winning in 3:28.04. Reimer also won the 200 back with a time of 2:02.16.

Among the other returners, Lott won the 100 back in 55.12,
Sara McClendon was the runner up in the 1000 free (10:20.62) and 500 free (5:03.04) and
Christina Pick took second in the 200 fly (2:05.72) and third in the 100 fly (58.65).Arizona

Utah fell in last year's opener to No. 11 USC, 142-120

It was a strong start for the Utes as they won the 200 medley relay in 1:41.96 featuring
Emma Lawless and
Mariah Gassaway

Sara McClendon got the team off to a 2-for-2 start, swimming the 1000 free in 10:20.12 to capture the first individual event of the meet. Later in the day, she finished second in the 500 free with a time of 5:07.49.

Audrey Reimer made her presence felt by winning the 100 back in 56.52 with
Emma Broome placing second.

After four wins in a row for the Trojans, Utah responded in consecutive events. Again, it was Reimer impressing with a time of 2:01.78 in the 200 back, finishing just ahead of teammate
Mallori Allen.

In the meet against UCLA, the women lost another closely-contested encounter, 156-144

Reimer continued her solid start to the season with a pair of second-place finishes in the 100 back (57.67) and 200 back (2:02.70).
Sarah Lott was another winner for the Utes, taking the 200 free in 1:51.90.

The day started well for the Utes as it captured the 200 medley relay in 1:42.13. Lawless captured the 100 fly in 55.42 and ver on the boards,
Emma Ruchala was the top Utah performer. She took second place in both the one meter and three meter events with scores of 240.60 and 270.08 respectively.

Utah is back home at Ute Natatorium on Fri., Oct. 25 for a dual meet against Arizona State. Action begins at 2 p.m.
