Honors Continue for Utah Football

The first All-America teams have come out with multiple players earning honors. Defensive end Bradlee Anae and safety Julian Blackmon were first-team selections by Sports Illustrated with corner Jaylon Johnson a second-team pick. USA Today also honored Anae (first team), Blackmon (second team) and Johnson (second team). Blackmon earned first-team honors from The Athletic with Anae on the second team. The Pro Football Focus All-America team came out last week with Blackmon and running back Zack Moss both first-team picks and Johnson, quarterback Tyler Huntley and tight end Brant Kuithe on the third team. Moss and Anae each earned second-team honors from CBS Sports.

Anae and Blackmon are two of five finalists for the Polynesian Player of the Year award, the only school with two student-athletes as finalists.Â

Anae and Tyler Huntley are two of 21 semifinalists for the Lombardi Award, presented to college football's most outstanding football player and leader. The winner will be announced on Jan. 13.
