FIRST PITCH
Utah has its first midweek contest of the season against UNLV on Tuesday, February 26 at 3 p.m.
The Utes are 2-4 after the first two weekends and the the Rebels are 4-4 overall.
This past weekend, UNLV played Stanford and lost two out of three in the series.
SERIES HISTORY
Utah and UNLV have a long history that goes back to 1973. Overall, Utah is 47-88 against the Rebels.
The last meeting came in 2012 and UNLV won 9-2.
SCHRAMM COMES UP BIG ON SUNDAYS
Freshman
Dustyn Schramm has appeared in both Sunday games this season and earned a save in the victory against Nevada and earned the win against San Diego in the second weekend.
He has yet to allow a run in 4.1 innings pitched and has struck out four and only walked two while giving up four hits.
MIGUELES HAS STRONG START
Erick Migueles has been on fire to start the season. He is hitting .455 going 10-22 from the plate and leads the team with 7 RBI.
He's had two hits in four of the six games this season and came up with an RBI in every game this season. His slash after the first two weekends is .455/.545/.481.
Going back to last season, Migueles has had an RBI in 13 straight games. He finished with one RBI in each game against Washington and had 7 RBI against Washington State in a three game series.
This season, he's had an RBI in each game and against San Diego he had two RBI to extend the streak to 13 straight games with an RBI.
FRESHMEN PITCHERS BOOST BULLPEN
Freshmen have come up big out of the bullpen on the first two weekends.
Jack Liffrig,
Dustyn Schramm and
Zac McCleve each hold an ERA of 0.00 after the first weekend. Both Liffrig and Schramm each pitched multiple innings.
Liffrig saw action on Saturday against Missouri State and pitched 3.0 innings and only giving up three hits, two of which came in the first inning he was in. He also had one strikeout and one walk.
Schramm earned his first career save against Nevada on Sunday, pitching two innings only allowing one hit. He also had two strikeouts.
In the second weekend,
David Watson pitched really well against Kansas State. He went 2.0 innings and only allowed one hit and had four strikeouts.

Utah will travel to East Carolina for their third tournament in a row and face ECU on Friday, West Carolina on Saturday and Wright State on Sunday.
