AUSTIN, Texas - Utah Swimming had four student-athletes in action on the first day of the NCAA Championships.
The first event of the day was the 200 free relay and the Ute quartet of
Austin Phillips,
Clay Stoddard,
Rodolfo Moreira and
Liam O'Haimhirgin finished in 1:18.24 to take 21st overall. The same grouping set the school record at the Pac-12 Championships with a time of 1:17.11 and took third place.
Phillips and O'Haimhirgin were back later in the 50 free. The senior Phillips finished 31
st with a time of 19.48 while O'Haimhirgin was 43
rd in 20.03 seconds. At the Pac-12 Championships, Phillips took fifth with the second-fastest time in Utah history at 19.43. O'Haimhirgin took 12
th in 19.74 to qualify for these NCAA Championships.
O'Haimhirgin is back tomorrow for the 200 free and the Utes will also compete in the 200 medley relay.
