The Utes are on a two-game win streak, defeating Furman last weekend, taking an early lead into an 8-7 win. Before the game, head coach
Brian Holman said that the team was at a turning point.
"I thought last week was a turning point in the sense that the team started to understand the value of really diligent practice and putting more time in in the film room," Holman said. "I think they started to conceptualize the learning piece. They're practicing with more diligence and more energy. I also thought our staff had its best week of preparation. We have some injuries and we've done a good job making adjustments based on players who will be out.
"We're excited to come back home and play in front of a nice crowd."
The Utes are 3-3 on the season.
Sophomore
Josh Stout ranks second in the NCAA with 23 goals scored and is fourth in the nation in goals per game (3.83).
Liam Donnelly is third in the NCAA in saves (80) and is tied for 12th in saves per game (13.33).
Samuel Cambere is tied for third in the nation in caused turnovers (13).
Bellarmine is 0-5 on the season. The Knights are coming off a high-scoring loss to Detroit Mercy (15-14).
"We have a saying in our program - respect all, fear none," Holman said. "They're a hungry team. You want to get that first win off your back. They have a brand new coaching staff and are learning a lot of processes, just like us. We have the ultimate respect for the team and their staff and what they're going to bring on Saturday."
