Women's Tennis Falls in First Round of Pac-12 Tournament

OJAI, Calif. – The 7th seeded University of Utah women's tennis team was unable to record a victory earlier today, as they were upset by No. 10 seed Arizona with a score of 2-4. With this loss, the Utes have been eliminated from the Pac-12 Championships.
The Utes were able to start the day off strong, earning the doubles point against Arizona. Emily Dush and Anya Lamoreaux got things started at the No. 3 position, as they were able to card a quick victory against Camila Wesbrooks and Gitte Heynemans, with a score of 6-2. Whitney Hekking and Leah Heimuli then sealed the point for the Utes with a victory on the No. 2 court, topping Marie Van Aelst and Sophia Thomas, 6-3.
In singles, Madison Tattini was the sole Ute to record a victory, as she was able to defeat Camilla Westbrooks with a score of 7-5, 6-3. Utah dropped matches on courts 1, 3, 5 and 4, to allow Arizona to make a comeback, finishing with a score of 2-4.
The University of Utah women's tennis team finished the regular season with an overall record of 13-10, going 3-7 in Pac-12 conference play. This Ute squad was also able to reach new heights this year, being ranked 38th overall in the country for three consecutive weeks.
