THE GAME
The No. 19/19 University of Utah Utes (3-1) return to Rice-Eccles Stadium this week to take on the Washington State Cougars (3-1) for Utah's annual Homecoming game. The game is set for an 8 p.m. MT kick on Saturday, Sept. 28 on FS1. Search #WSUvsUtah on social media for conversation.
HOME SWEET HOME
Utah is currently 93-35 (.726) all-time in Rice-Eccles Stadium (1998-present). Utah is 65-24 during the Kyle Whittingham era in Salt Lake City, including two undefeated home seasons in 2008 (6-0) and 2009 (6-0). The Utes have won six consecutive home games and eight of their last nine at RES.
HOMECOMING
Saturday's game is the 99th homecoming game in school history. Utah is 60-34-4 all-time in homecoming games and is 14-13-1 in homecoming games against Pac-12 schools.
GAME DAY PROMOTIONS
Fans in attendance at the Ute Walk will receive a Homecoming Utah Flag. The Ute Walk begins 2.5 hours prior to kick at the corner of 500 S. and Guardsman Way.

Utah is 34-40 against Pac-12 teams as a conference member and 110-158-6 all-time against Pac-12 schools.

•   With a win, the Utes will earn their first victory against Washington State since 2012 when they won 49-6 in Rice-Eccles Stadium.
•   With a win, Tyler Huntley will have 16 career wins as the starter at Utah, which will rank fifth all-time in program history. Â

•   Players changing numbers since spring ball include Bronson Boyd (#8), Devin Brumfield (#6), Vonte Davis (#22), Nygel King (#16), Malone Mataele (#15) and Simi Moala (#69). Position changes include Jayden Clemons going from quarterback to defensive back and Falcon Kaumatule moving from defensive end to offensive line.
•   Utah added three new staff members during the offseason with Andy Ludwig returning to the Utes as offensive coordinator after serving in the same role from 2005-08, including Utah's 2008 undefeated Sugar Bowl season. Former Utah player Sione Po'uha returns to coach the defensive tackles after serving in the same role at Navy last year while Colton Swan joined the Utes as linebackers coach from Weber State.
•   Scholarships awarded to walk ons during the offseason include senior offensive lineman Kyle Lanterman, junior tight end Ali'I Niumatalolo, senior defensive end Malik Haynes and senior running back Mason Woodward.
•   Javelin Guidry is one of the fastest players in NCAA football, clocking a season-best time of 6.59 seconds in the 2018-19 indoor track season and competing at the USATF Indoor Championships.
•   The Utes have had three freshmen start on the offensive line this season in Braeden Daniels (LG vs. NIU, at BYU), Johnny Maea (RG at BYU) and Simi Moala (RT vs. NIU). In total, Utah has had 12 freshmen see action this year on offense, defense and on special teams (Donte Banton, JaTravis Broughton, Daniels, Ben Lennon, Aaron Lowe, Maea, Malone Mataele, Moala, Jadon Redding, Alphonso Taylor, Jordan Wilmore, Thomas Yassmin).
