Memorial Service for Wat Misaka Set for Saturday

A memorial service for former Runnin’ Utes legend Wat Misaka is set for Saturday, Jan. 4.

SALT LAKE CITY – Memorial services and a celebration of the life of former University of Utah men's basketball legend Wat Misaka is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Jan. 4, at the First Presbyterian Church (12 C Street) and open to the public.

Visitation is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. (MT) end at 10:30 a.m. with service to begin at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the Utah Rice-Eccles Stadium Tower Scholarship Room (enter at Portal C) from 1-3 p.m. Inurnment will then be held at City View Memoriam.

Misaka, who was a member of the 1944 National Championship team and 1947 NIT Championship team at the University of Utah, passed away at the age of 95 on Nov. 20, 2019.
