Get to know Keely a little better with the Q&A below:
When did you start skiing?
I grew up skiing at Dodge Ridge where my parents put me on skis before I could even walk and I started racing when I was five.
What did you like about skiing when you were just starting out with it?
I don't specifically remember when I first started skiing because I was so young, but there are so many things that made me fall in love with the sport. My dad coached my two brothers and I growing up so it was a family affair. From a very young age my parents would just send us out on the hill all day to chase each other around. I love the competitive aspect of ski racing, but ultimately I just love being out on the mountain!
What do you love most about skiing?
My favorite part of skiing is the freedom you feel when it's just you and the mountain. I also love the adrenaline rush just before you push out of that start.
What made you want to ski at Utah?
I wanted to start skiing at Utah because I wanted to further my education in order to prepare for life after skiing, and college just seems pretty fun!
What are your goals here?
My goals at Utah are to just embrace the college experience. I hope to perform well both academically and athletically, but overall I just want to have a good time.
