FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Utah sent 13 women's swimmers into individual finals this evening at the Pac-12 Championships.
In the first event tonight, the 400 IM,
Charity Pittard finished eighth overall, matching her PR with a NCAA "B" qualifying time of 4:13.41 in the prelims.
Christina Pick swam the fourth-fastest time in Utah history during the "B" final at 4:16.57 and both
Mandy Gebhart (4:21.70) and
Grace Horvath (4:24.08) qualified for the "C" final.
Utah had another strong showing in the 100 back as
Audrey Reimer achieved the second-fastest swim in Utah history during the prelims at 53.01. That NCAA "B" qualifying time set her up for a seventh-place finish this evening.
Emma Lawless had the fourth-fastest swim in Utah history (53.71) to place among the top 10 in the conference.
Sarah Lott (54.41 in prelims) made the "B" final, while
Emma Broome (54.81 in prelims) reached the "C" final.
Lawless and Broome were also involved in the 100 fly. Lawless swam the fourth-fastest time in Utah history and took 11
th with a NCAA "B" qualifying mark of 53.28. Broome joined her in the "B" final after a swim of 54.26 in the prelims.
In the one relay on Friday, Lott,
Mariah Gassaway, Lawless and
Leyre Casarin took sixth in the 200 medley at 1:41.23
Kyla Yetter, who had a PR on Wednesday swimming the lead leg of the 800 free relay, made the "C" final of the 200 free after a time of 1:48.50 in the prelims.
McKenna Gassaway and
Abbie Hurst both reached the "C" final of the 100 breast, finishing with respective times of 1:02.97 and 1:03.01
On the boards,
Luke McDivitt finished eighth on the platform after sitting fourth entering the evening's dives.
Lizzy DeCecco was the top performer on the 3m for the women with a score of 270.00
