FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Audrey Reimer capped a fantastic showing at the Pac-12 Championships by obliterating the school record in the 200 back.
The sophomore finished fourth among Pac-12 swimmers with a NCAA "B" qualifying time of 1:52.51. It bested the previous mark, already held by Reimer, by more than two seconds. In the same event,
Emma Lawless swam the third-fastest time in Utah history with another NCAA "B" qualifying time, 1:56.48. She would finish 14
th overall.
Reimer was back in the pool for the last event of the evening, swimming the lead leg of the 400 free relay. Her time of 49.60 was the fourth-fastest swim in Utah history. She joined
Maddie Woznick,
Leyre Casarin and
Kayla Miller in turning in a time of 3:22.42.
In the 200 breast,
Charity Pittard swam the third-fastest time in Utah history with a NCAA "B" qualifying time of 2:11.54 to finish 11
th overall.
Grace Horvath (2:19.79) and
Mariah Gassaway (2:20.20) both qualified for the "C" final.
Competing at her final Pac-12 Championships, senior
Christina Pick won the "C" final of the 200 fly with a time of 2:00.10.
Sophia Morici also took part in the "C" final after swimming 2:05.46 in the prelims.
Sara McClendon cracked the top 10 of the 1650 free. She finished ninth with a NCAA "B" qualifying time of 16:23.22.
Mandy Gebhart placed 14
th overall at 16:41.47
Woznick finished with Utah's top time in the 100 free at 50.35, while
Regan Caufield placed 10
th in the platform diving event.
