FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Utah Diving concluded the first day of NCAA Zones with
Tony Chen taking fifth in the men's 3-meter event and qualifying for this year's NCAA Championships.
Chen had the top score of any diver after this afternoon's prelims (403.05) but slipped back during the finals.
Luke McDivitt also made the finals after placing eighth during the prelims (336.20).
Emma Ruchala was the top performer for the women in the 1-meter, reaching the finals and narrowly missing qualification for NCAA's at 15th overall with a score of 252.30.
2020 Time Trials – Pac-12 Championships
With the Pac-12 Championships concluding Saturday, some Ute swimmers stayed for a long course time trial, hoping to qualify for this year's NCAA Championships.
Liam O'Haimhirgin, a Pac-12 finalist, swam his second-fastest 100 free with a 49.95, leading a 1-2 finish with younger brother,
Finn O'Haimhirgin (50.38). Liam's time was his fastest since 2017 and just three-hundredths off his lifetime best. Finn trimmed down his time to qualify for the Olympic Trials.
In the 100 fly,
Colten Montgomery took second in 54.96, his best time in the event since 2017 and his first time under 55 seconds.

Robert King in the 400 free (3:59.08),
Jackson Cunningham in the 400 IM (4:30.18),
Brody Lewis in the 100 breast (1:02.88),
Cole Giandinoto in the 200 fly (2:04.12) and
Tyler Klawiter in the 800 free (8:38.55)
