FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Utah finished strong at the Pac-12 Men's Swim Championships on Saturday evening, highlighted by five top-10 finishes.
Rahiti De Vos had the best individual performance of the night, taking seventh in the 1650 free with the second-fastest swim in Utah history (14:57.07).
Tyler Klawiter finished eighth with a time of 15:03.75 and
Jackson Cunningham placed 15
th with the eighth-fastest swim by a Ute (15:20.60)
Liam O'Haimhirgin reached the championship final of the 100 free, placing eighth after posting a 42.64 during prelims. His brother Finn recorded the fourth-fastest swim in Utah history, taking 12
th in 43.27
In the 200 breast,
Jaek Horner had the second-fastest time in Utah history during prelims (1:56.52) en route to capturing the "B" final.
Andrew Britton is right behind him in the record books with a time of 1:57.89, good for third. After last night's record-setting performance, he would place 12
th overall.
Nathan Ramey took runner-up in the "C" final.
Ben Waterman had an impressive swim in the 200 fly with the second-fastest time in Utah history at 1:44.91.
Cole Giandinoto now sits seventh in the Utah record books with a time of 1:46.23 that was good for the runner-up spot in the "C" final. He was joined in that heat by
Max Hernandez-Nietling.
Robert King turned in a 1:45.91 during the prelims of the 200 back, good for seventh place in Utah history, and
David Fridlander would take third in the "C" final. The four-day event closed with the 400 free relay as the O'Haimhirgin's,
Felix Chiun and
Santiago Contreras placed fifth overall.
