SALT LAKE CITY - Several current, incoming and former Utah skiers have been nominated to the 2020-21 U.S. Ski Team.
On the cross country team, rising junior
Noel Keeffe and rising sophomore
Luke Jager have both been nominated to the men's development team for another year. Keeffe had a season-best finish of eighth in the 10-km freestyle and 20-km classic races at the Colorado Invitational. He made his World Cup debut in the sprint classic at Oberstdorf, Germany, earlier this year. Jager finished in the top five in five of the six collegiate races he competed in with three podium finishes. He helped lead the U.S. to gold in the relay at the 2020 FIS Junior Cross Country World Championships for the second-straight year and also finished 10
th in the 10-km classic.
Incoming freshmen Novie McCabe and Sydney Palmer-Leger have been nominated to the cross country women's development team. Both were members of the women's relay team that finished in second at the FIS Junior World Championships. McCabe, who was also a member of the U.S. team last year, placed ninth in the 15-km freestyle and 22nd in the freestyle sprint at the event.
Former Ute
Kevin Bolger was nominated to the 'B' cross country men's team, looking to continue with the national team for the third season. Bolger was a two-time All-American for the Utes during his four-year career (2014-17). He was the 2017 U.S. National Sprint Classic Champion.
In alpine,
Sam Dupratt returns to the U.S. Ski Team, earning a nomination to the 'B' team. He was previously a member of the team before skiing at Utah from 2017-18. A 2017 All-American in the giant slalom, Dupratt had three career race victories.
Nominations include those active athletes who qualified based on published selection criteria in the prior season.
