SALT LAKE CITY – Bjorn Brudevoll has extended Utah's streak of earning Skier of the Meet after he placed first in both races at Snowbird in the slalom.
They were his second and third wins this season in the slalom. The first win came at the Colorado Invitational.
"Because of the long break, it almost felt like the first races of the season again," Brudevoll said after yesterday's races. "We have had a lot of good training days during the break and several of those were on pretty soft conditions. Seeing that both races were kind of rough condition wise, I think the last couple of weeks with training in similar conditions really paid off."
Brudevoll wasn't the only one that had a great day. His teammate
Wilhelm Normannseth came in second in both slalom races right behind him.
Their high finishes pushed Utah's lead in the RMISA Invitational hosted by Westminster to 49.5 points.
The alpine team will be back at it racing in the giant slalom at Park City on Thursday and Friday. Those two days of racing will complete the RMISA Invitational at Utah, where the Utes have a commanding 75-point lead over the field thanks to the Nordic team. They raced their portion of the RMISA Invitational at Utah back on January 17 and 18.
