Our "The Team Behind the Teams" video series, profiling members of the Utah Athletics family who support our student-athletes, continues with
Mary Chris Finnigan, Utah's Director of Academics.
Finnigan explains that she was basically raised in a gym as the daughter of a long-time high school basketball coach. She participated in multiple sports growing up, including basketball, volleyball and track & field. In college, Finnigan played basketball and lacrosse at UC Santa Barbara.
Before joining the Utes, Finnigan worked as a counselor and basketball coach at her alma mater, Judge Memorial High School. She says that her position with the Utes is truly a dream job as it is a great combination of her passion for sports and mentoring young people.
Finnigan enjoys watching the student-athletes grow in confidence during their time at Utah and develop into amazing people. She feels it is truly an honor to be a small part of their journey. Finnigan also loves working with the academics and the athletic department staff, where everyone works hard and also knows how to have fun!
