POCATELLO, Idaho – The Utah track & field team has a solid start to the new calendar year this Saturday at the Snake River Open hosted by Idaho State inside Holt Arena.

Bailey Kealamakia took second in the finals of the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.15 after previously clocking in at 9.30 in the prelims. Later on in the 400m,
Rachel Whipple recorded a time of 59.47 to take second overall after running in her first 400m race since the winter of 2018.

Makenna McCloy then went out and recorded a new PR in the 200m after crossing the finish line at 25.93, which was good for a runner-up finish.

Utah's 4x400m relay team of McCloy,
Ruby Jane Mathewson, Whipple and
Bailey Kealamakia kept the trend going Saturday afternoon and finished second with a time of 3:58.66.

UP NEXT
The Utes will have a couple of weeks off to train before heading up to the PNW for the UW Invitational (Jan. 28-29) inside the Dempsey Indoor Center before splitting the squad up the following weekend (Feb. 4-5) at the Weber State Invitational and WSU Invitational.
