MOBILE, Ala. – University of Utah tight end
Dalton Kincaid has been named the Reese's Senior Bowl Offensive Player of the Week, cementing himself in the Utah record book after his standout performance in Utah's 43-42 win over No. 7 USC.
Kincaid was phenomenal from start to finish against the Trojans, catching all 16 passes that were thrown his way for a career-high 234 receiving yards and one touchdown. His 16 receptions is the most by a player in the FBS this season with his 234 yards ranking first among FBS tight ends and fifth overall.
The Las Vegas, Nev., native's 16 catches was also the most by a Utah tight end in program history, tying for second all-time. The 234 receiving yards the senior brought down is second all-time at Utah and is the most by a Utah tight end since at least 1996.
Against USC, Kincaid was responsible for 10 of Utah's 31 first downs with eight of his 16 catches going for 15 yards or longer. He was also key in extending drives for the Utes, converting on five third downs with receptions for 23, 19, 17, 12 and 11 yards which included three third down conversions on Utah's game winning drive.
Kincaid's total yards against the Trojans is the most by a Pac-12 player since 2018 (Dillon Mitchel, Oregon vs. Stanford, 236 yds) and the most by an FBS tight end since at least 1996. His 16 receptions was also one short of tying the single-game FBS record for a tight end.
Over the last 21 games at Utah, Kincaid has scored 14 touchdowns (6 in 2022, 8 in 2021), giving him 33 total receiving touchdowns in his career, which ranks second among all active FBS players (first among tight ends). His 2,291 career receiving yards (1,082 yards at Utah) is the most by any active tight end in the FBS as well.
