Freshman Quarterback Nate Johnson On assessing last Saturday's game vs. Arizona…
"It felt great. (The coaches) put me in the game plan on Monday. Just had to stay ready. I was out there with the offense, and it was a really exciting moment with the guys."
On building confidence coming off those game reps…
"I feel like (my confidence) can grow a lot. Especially with the guys we have on this team, they pump me up every day. They're always telling me to stay ready. So I've always stayed ready. They give me a big confidence boost."
On what he's learned from the rest of the quarterbacks…
"I've really learned a lot. Cam's given me a lot of good tips. When I went in there, he just told me to stay relaxed. Do your thing and make the reads. I've really learned a lot from Cam this year.

"Cam has really helped me a lot. He's a great teacher. He's been teaching me all his tips and tricks…Also Bryson; Bryson has taught me some tricks as well. I'm really learning from both those guys. Both those guys have really helped me a lot this year."
Junior Safety Clayton Isbell On assessing the defense's performance vs. Arizona…
"It starts with the coaches. The coaches made sure we were well-prepared for the game. We knew we had to come in and play physical and fast. I feel like we did that."
On improvements on the docket this week…
"You can always look to improve every week, every day, in something you want to do. This week, we want to improve on more techniques and playing more assignment-sound football."
On how the defense can rebound in Van Fillinger's absence…
"Van's a great player, great teammate, great person. He's always shown love to me. Really good person. He's a hard guy to replace, but there has to be a next-man-up mentality. We're all ready and prepared to play."
What have you learned from the leaders in your position group?
"I've learned how to play and how to take a negative and turn it into a positive. A lot of things are going to happen that could be negatives. But you have to bounce back from that."
